Description
A DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining working DevSecOps environments, to include the infrastructure required for code configuration management, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automated testing, static code quality and security scans, dynamic security testing, automated deployment, and secure communication between the components that perform these tasks. Responsibilities include:
- Produce value to the stakeholders by regularly shipping robust, high-quality features into the production environment
- Contribute to DevSecOps, Operability, and Architecture Reviews with the team
- End-to-end responsibility for features of increasing complexity
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to complete our roadmap and priorities and deliver value
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience working within an Agile development environment
• A strong foundation of Linux Systems Engineering and Automation
• 3+ years of relevant SRE/DevSecOps, systems or software engineering experience; "relevant" being: Developing Internet-scale multi-user web/mobile/cloud type software products
• 3+ years programming languages (Go, Rust, Python, .Net, Java, Javascript, & PHP)
• Web technologies - HTTP, SSL/TLS, REST APIs
• Deep understandings of Cloud-based (i.e. AWS, Azure, etc.) services and API
• Experience with container-based architecture, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform and Helm
• Experience with Configuration as Code (CaC)/GitOps
• Source control (preferably Git)
• Streaming and database technologies such as Postgres, Kafka, Cassandra, and ElasticSearch
• Able to debug complex problems across the whole stack
• Knowledge of and experience with a wide array of application stacks
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical teams
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment practices and tooling
Desired Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of Big Bang product, core and add on options
• In-depth knowledge of Iron Bank
• In-depth knowledge of CNAP
• Knowledge of building and incubating CNCF products
